Resume Shortlisting

Process:

  • Candidates submit their applications via the EY careers portal.
  • Resumes are screened based on relevant skills, educational qualifications, and any related experience such as internships or projects.
  • Selected candidates are invited to proceed to the next round, which is the Online Test.

Online Test

Type: Aptitude and Technical Questions
Content:

  • Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude: Included questions to assess logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and numerical ability.
    • Example: Solve this puzzle: “In a group of 50 people, 30 like tea, 25 like coffee, and 10 like both. How many like only tea?”
    • Example: Calculate the sum of the first 50 natural numbers.
  • Technical Questions on SQL, Python, and Excel:
    • SQL:
      • Example: Write a query to find duplicate records in a table.
      • Example: Explain the difference between a primary key and a foreign key.
    • Python:
      • Example: Write a Python function to remove duplicates from a list.
      • Example: Describe how you handle missing data in a pandas DataFrame.
    • Excel:
      • Example: How do you use the VLOOKUP function in Excel?
      • Example: Explain the process of creating a pivot table in Excel.

Technical Interview

Format: Face-to-face or Virtual Interview

  • Past Projects and Internships Discussion:
    • Example: Detail a project involving the analysis of a large dataset. What tools did you use, and what were your findings?
    • Example: Describe an internship where you worked extensively with data. What was your role, and what insights did you gain?
  • Data Extraction, Data Cleaning, and Data Modeling:
    • Example: Approach to extracting data from multiple sources.
    • Example: Common techniques employed for data cleaning.
    • Example: Importance and process of data modeling in data analysis.
  • Analytical Skills Testing via Scenario-based Questions:
    • Example: Given a dataset with missing values, outliers, and inconsistent formats, how would you prepare it for analysis?

HR Interview

Format: Face-to-face or Virtual Interview
